Wow, I just realized it has been some time since I have posted. School is going good tho.
Anyway onto another subject, back in March I bought this Bissell Powerforce turbo vacuum cleaner, now if you remember me, you know I HATE to clean so when I was sweeping last week and it started to smell funny I shut it off. I turned it up to look at it because I knew my roller had quit moving and smoke started coming out. Here I was thinking great, catch the place on fire so I won't have to worry about cleaning. I am still here so obviously the smoke wasn't as bad as it seemed.
Still haven't figured out why this damned thing will no longer work. The belt is fine. Like I said I bought it in March and I only sweep about once a week so I have only used this dang thing somewhere around 34 times and it broke. I bought the middle of the line because I wanted a decent vacuum and this is what happens. So I am off in search of a new one again this week, any suggestions besides Bissell?
I will try to post with a little more frequency.

I need a new vacuum too.one too. My DIL has a new Dyson, she loves it. Maybe I'll check them out.

Vacumms, washers and dryers hate me.
I have been through so many vacumms in 20 years. I finally nagged enough and the hub agreed on buying me the Oreck.
It is a bit pricey, but I have had it 4 years and it is still going strong.
You see 4 years is a long time for me.

If you want a vacuum that will last, get the Oreck. My mom swears by hers. It's cost effective in the long run.
Hey Welcome back! I was so excited to see your comment at Grandma J's. I knew I had a long lost blogging friend out there somewhere. I hate vacumes. Mine is a Bissell middle of the line and it loses suction all the time. It annoys me. I try not to vacume because it annoys me so much! Truly! Let me know what you find out because I definitely need a new one. I have been thinking about a dyson. Or an oreck. My friend just spent $500 for an oreck and she LOVES it! She only has to pay $30 a month or something like that. Hmmmmmmmmm.

Wonderful to hear school is going well. However, your absence has been duly noted, but it's most understandable.
The reason your vacuum no longer works is that it was made after 1979. Everything went to shit or China after that, lol.
Sounds to me like your belt got stuck and the turning of the roller was burning the belt... thus the smell from hell. I have a guy here that can fix damn near any kind of vacuum, but we bought a Kirby Generation 3 when our son was selling them door-to-door, lol. Yes, I do actually have SAP written across my forehead, lol. However, they have a lifetime guarantee and luckily the factory is 40 miles from here. That sucker can shampoo carpets and do everything else you can think of. I would never have another.

My vacuum's last 4-ever because I simply never use them unless company is coming. It helps with the power bill, too. AND if you let everyone wear shoes in your house, they'll never know about the dirty floor.
