Vintage Thingies Thursday
I am participating in Vintage Thingies Thursday hosted by the Apron Queen again this week.
I have dug out yet another house. This one is for Barbie and is from 1973. It is Barbies Country Living Home.
As you can it is a nice little vinyl home but open it up and you have the lavish living room, charming little kitchen, and retro bedroom.
When I opened it I was surprised to see the wicker furniture. That was the thing to have in your house in the seventies and my barbies were no exception, they too had to have it.
It also still had the pink plastic bed with orange flowers. And those swing doors, loved them.
As I was checking this house out I noticed a few reasons I shouldn't house sit:
1. If Barbie wants to keep those plants alive an flourishing she had better never ask me to house sit for her.
2. She has no microwave. C'mon, I thought she was hip you know microwaves were a luxury in the 70's.
3. WHAT??? No internet connection? I bet the beitch has it in her Malibu home.
4. And sorry, no closets for Holy Crappers in this house. WTF is up with that?
Although I must say she seems to always have a roaring fire and a pie in the oven. Add some cocktails and I may have to reconsider.

Girl - where do u get all this stuff?? My mom only keeps her outdated clothes and shoes (in the hopes they'll come back in style) Your mom must really love you!!
Hey Peanut...now aren't you glad I kept all of that 'stuff'. Now I just wish you would take the rest of it that is over here!!! Course you will need another storage unit to keep it all in! I say put it all on ebay!
Even though there are no closets, I would soooo move into that house. Love the wicker furniture!
I could always hide under a bed or something.
peace

I stumbled onto your blog and I screamed with delight to see this barbie house.
I had this one!!! I forgot all about it until I saw yours.
Thanks for the memories.
Your blog is too cute.
I know you still play with that house. Your prints are all over it....nice teapot.
I love that clean house/wasted life badge in your sidebar. It's my new mantra!
That is some seriously sweet wicker furniture!!
My parents wouldn't get us any Barbie houses. We built ours out of all kinds of boxes and used carpet samples and wallpaper books for decorations. We even had an elevator that went through all 4 floors!
When I clicked your link at the VTT home, it didn't work and said your URL was available to use. You may want to re-enter on the Mr. Linky.
ok get out of the house!!!!!!!!!!
CATZILLA ..is right beside you!!!
No microwave. No internet. The horror!
Your link on VTT didn't work, but I googled ya & found you. So glad I did. I fixed the link for you too. Thanks for sharing. Made me laugh.

My elementary school BFF had that house. I had the Barbie Friendship Plane.
Both items were sold at a yard sale, and we took the cash and rode our bikes straight to 7-11!! Good thing we had bike baskets to carry all of our loot home :)
I so remember that wicker furniture set. In fact, there is still a piece of it floating around this big old house somewhere. The couch/love seat. Funny though, I didn't remember the rest of it until I saw this. Total flashback.
My Barbie totally had that same wicker furniture! It was on the patio where she parked her mobile home. Yep. My Barbie lived in a trailer. Niiiiice!
