Vintage Thingies Thursday

I am once again participating in Vintage Thingies Thursday hosted by the Apron Queen.

I was actually digging around in my garage looking for something else when I happened along these treasures.
These frisbee looking things are vinyl record albums for the youngsters, like my daughter that are asking. This and a record player are how we listened to music when I was younger, before the 8-track, cassettes and cd's. And the other things the technically challenged like me don't have.

This one I played My Boyfriend's Back over and over.

I loved to watch Shirley Temple movies, so when I got the record I was a singing fool.

Lastly, my all time favorite!!!!
When my Grandma gave me this for my birthday I was ecstatic.
I seen this in the theaters nine time and to this day it is still my all time favorite movie.
The movie also started my life long love affair with John Travolta.
I wanted so badly to go to Rydell High.
Oh, Danny Zuko could have had me at the drive-in!!!

My Boyfriends Back, by the Angels! That was one of my favorites the year I graduated from High School. We had a line dance for that...probably a local thing.

You probably wont' believe this, but I've never seen Grease. Just one of those things that never came up. I didn't have cool records. I had frosty the snowman though, and I used to listen to it and cry b/c he melts at the end. Records are kind of traumatic for me.

I HAD so many of these things. Unfortunately, my minimalist ways got the best of them!!

I held on to my records for a long long time but finally gave them up. Now they make me feel old when I see them. But I'm not old! Gah!

I had a lot of soundtrack favorites, but not Grease.

Who can't love Grease? I never wanted to be Sandy until the end of the movie, well minus the stinky cigs. :)

I told my daughter that she sounded like a broken record. She was clueless. I had to explain it. Please pass the Geritol. :)
