Proof of Procrastination

As some may know, mom works at a greenhouse and loves her job. Her yard has beautiful flowers, with the placement that makes sense and the landscaping is always tended to. I on the other hand have in NO way inherited her green thumb. I am satisfied as long as the yard is mowed, leaves are raked, bushes are cut back and the really noticeable weeds are pulled. I do not have one living plant in my house because if the cats don't kill it, I probably would. I don't even have fake flowers because they also require keeping (dusting) and we know how I hate that.
Anyway back to my original thought. Mom buys things form the said greenhouse and brings them to me. I wonder what I am suppose to do with these beautiful plants, so I put them somewhere that they will get water and sunshine. She purchased these for me last year and I had no idea where to plant them so I put them on the hot tub outside and that is where they have been for about a year now. When I got them they were full bloom and looked beautiful. Over the last few months I looked at them and thought how awful that I let them die, then last week I noticed that they were sprouting some greenery.

Cookies dad is suppose to come over next weekend to help us pull out some trees. He too has a green thumb and can tell you every plant you have growing. I really liked this one and I plan on planting it somewhere hopefully next weekend as long as it is what it is suppose to be and not some weed or tree that has blown in there to fool me.

And this one also has sprouts, and will also be planted somewhere

Every Mother's Day mom buys me flowers from the girls. She asked if she could take Peepers to the greenhouse for my flowers, I said, 'please don't buy me anymore flowers because I have't even finished planting last years.' I really thought she would notice the ones on the hot tub and think, I am NOT buying her ANYMORE, but NOOOO, this is what they come home with.

There are a couple in there that I really like and plan on making sure they get planted also next weekend.

This next picture is of a flower the Mouse brought home from school and I just rolled my eyes, do these people not know me yet? I must admit the mouse only has around 4 yrs. with me, but mom has 40!!! Anyhoo, this flower as gone from looking beautiful like this, to brown and dead, back to this. I told her to take it with her this weekend to her grandpa or great grandma.

P.S. Mom when we get those trees pulled, I'll be ready for my Clematis. That is one I know I will get planted immediately.

I'm so with you on the green (or lack of) thumb thing. If it wasn't for the Salesman, everything would die. I love to look at them, and I will buy them and plant them, but after that- it's all up to him. Maybe your mom is hoping if she keeps buying you flowers, eventually some her greenness (is that a word?) will rub off. Good Luck!

I love a nice garden, but I can't take the heat here in Texas...no joke. In CA I lived in my yard. Now, I buy freshly cut flowers at Walmart or HEB (grocery store) for $4/$5 dollars a bunch. I usually buy two a week and that's all I need.
