Big Hair and The Crue

I recently reunited with a friend from high school through Facebook. I was scrolling through some of my pictures that I have managed to scan onto the computer and there we were. I started laughing, looking at us.

I believe the year was 1985, I was 16 and we were in Indy at our 1st concert

MOTLEY CRUE - Theatre of Pain Tour. Oh, how I worshiped them, I loved them.
The drawback to going to your first concert is over protective parents. We had to have a chaperon and guess who that ended up being...what, give up? It.was.MY.MOM!!!! So much for that party. Oh well, we were pretty much able to stay in a haze anyway thanks to our fellow seatmates.... Hehehe. Sneaky weren't we?
I continued to go to every concert they performed in Indy until I was about 20yrs old and I attended one two weeks after Peepers was born (only alcohol was involved this time). That was when I felt old, although I was still able to sing and rock right along with them and I no longer looked like this..Haha

That's the young version of me in the middle. I guess I shouldn't have been so fast to comment on Cool Breeze's shades but on the brighter side are you envious BHE? Bwhahaha!!! And yes, we were smoker's then too. (I reunited with the one in the red on Facebook)

Indy (Part 2)

Have I mentioned I cannot take a decent picture?

Very busy week, between extra homework and being sleep deprived I haven't been able to post.

Let me just say it was extremely cold and I was told we only had a half block walk outside to the convention center. OH NO WE DID NOT!!! It was more like two blocks. I am glad the Keeper got a picture of herself looking like a yellow Kermit because I was too cold to remove my camera and take a picture. Although in her picture you could see more than her eyes and nose. She was really bundled in previous trips.

She wanted me to stay another night but I had to get home to finish up homework and I will see her in Florida where it is not freezing.

Mom and the Rock came down Saturday and brought Peepers with them. She LOVED the hotel. She had to ride home with them because we were parked in two different garages and they had her car seat so when I was kissing her bye she decided to jump and hit my nose so hard I had to sit for a minute and she bloodied it. OUCH!!! It knocked me for a loop. Peepers and PA(The ROCK) walking downtown

When I got home I was changing and busted my lip on the rocking chair and then Cookie accidentally hit my eye with his head and knocked my glasses into my eyes, hurting me even further. Now that my whole face had been beat up, I started thinking maybe I should have stayed. Hahaha. (I wasn't able to touch my nose until yesterday without pain, now it just feels a little sore)

Okay Pictures: Sporty Girl and The Diva
They have grown soooo much!!

I had to tell Cheer Girl not to look so enthused

The Keeper and Budman doing what they do all so well, DRINKING!

We were actually trying to get a picture of the guy behind me and his funked up hair.
The Keeper was making fun of my turtleneck but then retreated when she realized it was actually something we here in Indiana do to help keep warmer. Oh, how easily one forgets.

And the best

Love this pic, The Keeper posed for me....Hahaha
(Keeper: were you worried?)

Indy

We left Friday filled with gusto. The Diva had the radio up, and all was good.

I do not like driving on the interstate, I enter a state of total PANIC! We drove the highway half way before I HAD to merge onto the Interstate at which point the radio volume goes way down, teeth become clenched and you have to pry them apart to get me to speak to you, and my hands sweat profusely. I believe by the time we hit Indy my jeans were probably wet from wiping them so often and I had a headache from clenching my teeth.
I was okay on the Interstate when it began running around downtown Indy, at this point I became myself again screaming and cursing at the other drivers. The Diva hates it when I start going all foul when I drive but cannot seem to help myself.
We finally arrive at the hotel after we missed our exit because some idiot decided to slow down and made it impossible to exit. We had to park in the parking garage across the street from the hotel and I call the Keeper to inform her we are there. She and Budman want alcohol so I have to inform them I will walk with Budman somewhere because I am not moving the car until tomorrow when I leave. I was all nice and toasty in the car when I made this statement. The Diva and I grab our bags, the coats we brought for them and a pizza from home that was requested. I stepped out of the car and regretted that thought.
We decided to go have a few drinks so we used Cheer Girls laptop to search for local bars, although all we had to do was walk outside and there are probably 20 within a three block radius. On our way to the bar we noticed a liquor store less than a half block from the hotel. Yay!! I wouldn't have to walk forever with Budman to locate one. We went to a wonderful little pub and had a few drinks then on our way back bought some alcohol.
More later.....with pictures.

Saturday morning

Cookie and I were talking about cartoons last night. I remember when cartoons were something special, when you woke up on Saturday morning all excited because cartoons were on. We would get up and eat our cereal, and you had to be done before Super Friends came on. This was my favorite cartoon. It ran from 1973 to 1986 on ABC as part of its Saturday Morning cartoon lineup.

The first segment of every show featured two of the heroes (for the purposes of the team-ups in the first and fourth segments, Batman and Robin were considered 'one hero') teaming up in a separate mini-story. The second segment featured a story with the Wonder Twins (Wonder Twin powers activate, they were my favorite). The third segment was considered the "primary" adventure of the week which featured the entire Super Friends roster (including the Wonder Twins) in a longer adventure. The fourth and final segment featured a story with one of the primary lineup along with a "special guest star." The fourth segment typically featured a problem that was solved using the guest star's unique abilities.
Then they added Challenge of the Super Friends. These stories introduced the Legion of Doom a team of thirteen recurring foes who are the Super Friends’ worst enemies. They used a swamp-based mechanical flying headquarters, the Hall of Doom as a suitable contrast with the Super Friends’ gleaming Hall of Justice.

And then there was Captain Caveman. It was originally broadcast as a segment on the package shows Scooby's All-Star Laff-A-Lympics and Scooby's All-Stars. You would always find yourself cheering for your favorite team on Scooby.Captain Caveman's powers include super-strength, a variety of useful objects hidden inside his fur, and a club that allows him to fly and from which pops out different tools he uses to fight crime. His trademark is his battle cry of "Captain CAAAAAAAVEMAAAAAAAAANNNN!!!!"

And then Schoolhouse Rock! (this is a post all of its own). Schoolhouse Rock! is a series of animated musical educational short films that aired during Saturday morning cartoons. Topics covered include grammar, science, economics, history, math and politics.
I watched cartoons all on the same channel. I am not sure if they were not on other channels or if I was just too lazy to get up off my camel colored chair to turn the dial. No, we did not have a remote, it was manual baby!!!

It's Freaking Cold

If I wanted these kinds of temps I would be living in Minnesota or Canada.

The Temp outside (-10) degrees the weather says feels like (-30) with wind chill.

All of the schools within 30 miles have canceled but do you think my school is? No!! So I am going out to freeze my behind off(if only, it may be worth it). This sucks and The Keeper is leaving Florida for this.... Haha.

I went out to start my car and it did the usual noises that come along with, 'you really aren't trying to start me are you?' Ah, finally I guess I will run for you but not without making these awful grinding noises. I am hoping my car isn't all burnt out when I get back out there. Actually I am praying it doesn't decide to get back at me and leave me stranded somewhere.

Update: - 18 degrees here this morning!!!! (Friday)

Weekend trip....

The Keeper and Budman, along with two of their kids are flying into Indy this weekend for a cheer competition so the Diva and I are going down for a couple days.
I was talking to her today to get all flight and competition times when she mentioned that the venue was only a block and a half walk from the hotel. Okay but that is kinda far because, well, it is damn cold here. (I know everyone living somewhere colder is calling me a Wuss, I am). I inform her the high on Friday is suppose to be a balmy 5 degrees and that isn't even factoring in the wind chill. She then informs me that they have NO winter coats. Bwhahaha...that's what she gets for calling and bitching that she is cold in 60 degree weather!!! No, being the wonderful friend I am, I have arranged for them all to have coats since everyone owns at least 3 each here and Mom chipped in one of the Rocks for Budman.
Anyhow, I cannot wait. Hopefully I can get some decent pictures.

I have updated my model...total loss of 6 lbs so far. Not quite sure how good that is since I actually started on the 2nd. At least it is something:)

Human too busy

Hi all, Gracie here, my human has to get ready to go to school so just a short note: she promises, promises, promises to keep up with her blog this semester.
Side note: She has been bitching and moaning about how badly her legs hurt from the work-outs.
