The Fine Print

Cookie and I are planning a trip to visit The Keeper without the kids over my Spring Break. YAY!!
I spent the morning trying to decided exactly what day to leave and what time because it will only be a long weekend trip. I finally decided we will be leaving out on Thursday March 6 in the afternoon so I went to Southwest.com to purchase our tickets.

I have been using Southwest now for the last few years since ATA went bankrupt. Anyway I purchased tickets last year then changed my itinerary 0n Feb.28 which left me with a $48 dollar credit (mind you this is MY hard earned $$$). So in booking my tickets today, I went to use my credit. I get a message saying my credit (MY $$$) is no good for this flight. I called the airline to ask why my credit is not working and they informed me that I have to FLY before the date my credit was issued. I was not aware of this, No where did it state I had to Fly before this date I thought the credit was good as long as I used it to purchase tickets before this date. Oh no sister, you are wrong, You just got screwed out of your hard earned $$$. I can hear them now, Bwhahaha...Suckar!!!

I booked the flight anyway because it was the only one fitting into our schedule, but I think I will be booking our return flight home with AirTran and using them from here on because nothing pisses me off more than being screwed out of something that actually belongs to ME!!
Okay just had to vent and get this out. I told the Keeper I will probably be red flagged by the airline now. On the bright side I will be in Florida, just not soon enough.

Customer service is out the window with all the airlines. Have fun anyway.
I booked a cruise through the airlines and the flight they had me on to get from Achorage to CA would be gone before I even got off the ship. When I brought this to their attention, they charged me an extra $150 to change the flight. No mercy. Now I use you FFM to upgrade to first class...it makes me feel better, and the overhead bunk holds more stuff.

Actually, if you take any extra luggage, SW will not charge you for it. Every other airline will charge you at least $25 per bag. So, just takes lots of luggage. SW doesn't mind.

And hey - I'll send you some SW drink coupons too, lol.

On another note... thank you for backing me up against the troll on Thursday's post. Gah! What is it with people?

I would be livid because you're right: it was YOUR money. What a neat trip though...visiting a friend, a getaway, no kids, Florida. Okay, I have to stop now before I start to cry.

Oh, I hope you have a wonderful visit!!! Wish I were going somewhere WARM!!!

The last time I flew, I used Jet Blue. (No rhyme intended!!!) Lots of leg room, your own personal tv - I LOVED it.
