Vintage Thingies Thursday

My mom brought this over to me awhile back and as I was sitting in the garage smoking I decided to brave any spiders I may find and dig this out to put on Vintage things Thursday hosted by the Apron Queen @ http://anapronaday.blogspot.com/2008/03/light-bulb-moment.html
The house reads Official-Fisher-Price-Toy so you know it had to be good. So the outside decor is a little rough but the inside as immaculate as ever. This dollhouse provided me with many hours of entertainment over 30 years ago. Imagine my surprise when I opened it and found there were still even some of the furniture and people in there. I remember running the car, which is not here, in and out of the garage. Making the people go up and down those stairs. They also hid from me in the stair closet. And of course there was always a pool party.
As I am typing this the Diva herself is playing with it saying, 'I can't believe I am playing with your toys that are sooo OLD.'
This was later replaced by a dollhouse my dad made for me. It will take a little more cleaning but I plan on doing it soon.

I notice the curb appeal of your dollhouse is similar to mine, tear off some of the paper! We had the barn to go with the house, too. I wonder if my mom still has them around?

I loved my Fisher-Price stuff - had the house, the garage, and the barn. I used the barn as storage - I didn't like bacon but convinced my mom I was eating it as I walked down the hallway to my room, once there I would stuff that bacon in the hayloft. Worked pretty good until things got stinky!?!

So good to bring these old things back to life. I think they must have been waiting for years to have fresh children's hands all over them.

LMAO...sista #1. I may have to dig it back out just to reference to her this week. Freaking hilarious.
I am going to have to tell mom she somehow neglected to get me the barn.
I did however have the parking garage where you had to hand crank the cars up. Loved it, but it's nowhere to be found.

Wow, flashback. My best friend had that and I always wanted one! How can you beat that closet under the stairs?

And I always wanted that parking garage where you crank the cars up the elevator.

I love that my mom has some of my old toys, too, and watching my kids playing with them I get a little bit, just a teensy bit, way deep down inside, possesive LOL! Mine! But things were made so well in the past that the toys just keep on pleasing. BTW, love your blog!
